The Lightning promoted COO STEVE GRIGGS to Lightning and Tampa Bay Times Forum President. The team also announced a four-year contract extension for VP & GM STEVE YZERMAN. He has one more year remaining on his initial contract with the club and is completing his fourth season as the franchise's lead hockey operations exec (Lightning).

BRITISH DUEL: British Telecom named DELIA BUSHELL Managing Dir of BT TV & Sport "after a short stint" as Sky Italia Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to Sky Italia, Bushell was at BSkyB for more than a decade, "leading the company's attack on the telecoms market" from '06-11 and "setting the scene for today's fierce rivalry with BT." She will now lead BT's "multimillion-pound investmne in television and sport as the rivals prepare to go head to head in a crucial auction" of EPL rights. Bushell's appointment "is likely to irritate BSkyB" (London TELEGRAPH, 4/7).

BACK TO THE BELTWAY: In this week's SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, Terry Lefton reports Monumental Sports & Entertainment named LEE STACEY Dir of Corporate Partnerships, reporting to Chief Revenue Officer JIM VAN STONE. Stacey is "one of a half-dozen recent hires in Monumental’s corporate sponsorship department, which is being reorganized." Stacey was most recently Front Row Marketing Senior VP/Global Sales and also had a stint as Bullets and Washington Sports & Entertainment Senior Dir of Corporate Sales from '93-96 (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 4/7 issue).

EXECS: The WTA yesterday announced the creation of an in-house marketing team, promoting EMILY WRIGHT to VP/Marketing Solutions to lead the effort. The WTA also named Eurosport Global Communications Dir HEATHER BOWLER Senior VP/Communications and former NBC Sports Regional Networks VP/Digital Content RICHARD LIBERO to the newly-created position of VP/Content Strategy & Publishing (WTA)....Daytona Int'l Speedway promoted Dir of Business Development DAVID STRAHAN to the newly-created position of Senior Dir of Sales (NEWS-JOURNALONLINE.com, 4/7)....The BMO Harris Bradley Center named DOUG JOHNSON Dir of Booking (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 4/7)....Florida A&M named Pro Football HOFer KELLEN WINSLOW AD. He will be introduced later today (ESPN.com, 4/7). Winslow previously served as Lakeland College VP/Athletics & Wellness from August '12 to March '13, and as Central State Univ. AD for four years prior (JACKSONVILLE.com, 4/7)....The USA Triathlon BOD elected BARRY SIFF as President, replacing BOB WENDLING, who had been in the role since '11. MIKE WIEN (VP), KEVIN SULLIVAN (Secretary) and JACK WEISS (Treasurer) also were each elected to two-year terms (USA Triathlon).
