Sochi Games Helps Yahoo-NBC Grab Top Spot On February ComScore Rankings

Thanks in large part to the Sochi Games, the Yahoo Sports-NBC Sports digital alliance in February broke a five-month hold ESPN had atop of the monthly comScore sports reach rankings, leading the way during the month with a total of 63.6 million unique visitors. The total is the highest produced in any single month by the alliance since it was struck in December '12. The Yahoo Sports-NBC Sports team also led in consumption metrics usually led in every month by ESPN, posting a total of 5 billion minutes. NBC Sports individually also generated its highest-ever individual digital audience total with 39.2 million uniques during February. The release of the comScore numbers from February was delayed by about two weeks as the measurement agency sorted through various data collection anomalies.
