NBA Attendance Flat As February Comes To A Close; Pelicans, Kings Continue Gains

NBA teams are averaging 17,233 fans per game through Feb. 25, relatively flat compared to the same period last season. Looking at Western Conference teams, the Mavericks maintain the top spot. Attendance at AmericanAirlines Center is down slightly from last season, but the Mavericks are still packing the venue to 103.5% capacity. The Pelicans and Kings lead all Western Conference teams in gains from last season. Both clubs are up 20% at home despite sitting and 12th and 14th, respectively, in the Western Conference standings. The Rockets, in their first season with C Dwight Howard, are up 11% at Toyota Center. Struggling at the gate this season are the T'Wolves. The team's home average at Target Center is down around 10% as the team sits just outside the playoff picture at the end of February. Listed below is team-by-team attendance for the Western Conference. See tomorrow's issue for Eastern Conference figures (THE DAILY).
