Shaq Launches Suit Line With Macy's To Fill A Void For Big, Tall Men

Macy’s has teamed up with TNT's Shaquille O’Neal to "launch an exclusive line of regular and Big & Tall-sized suit separates," according to Alexander Coolidge of the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER. The Shaquille O'Neal collection "will be available this month at 100 Macy’s stores nationwide." Retailing "from $150 for a pant to $400 for a jacket, the collection fits men sized up to 60XL as well as standard sizes." O'Neal: "My interest in developing a menswear collection was based on the lack of fashion choices for Big & Tall customers and the higher prices for larger size suits." Montreal-based Peerless Clothing "will manufacture the line," which will be "marketed online and in-store as well as through newspaper advertisements and personal appearances." O'Neal also will "wear the new collection on TNT's 'Inside the NBA' and on future television appearances" (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 2/12). In N.Y., Ginger Adams Otis notes while "some of the pieces will be traditional solids, O'Neal's brought his power in the paint to his prints." There will "even be some sharkskin shades in black, navy, tan and grey" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 2/12).
