Silver Rush: NBA Announces Executive Structure Changes Under New Commissioner

The NBA on Thursday officially announced that the league’s BOG has unanimously approved MARK TATUM to become NBA Deputy Commissioner & COO effective Saturday, the same day ADAM SILVER becomes Commissioner. The NBA also announced three other major exec changes effective Saturday.

* Exec VP/Business Affairs & General Counsel BILL KOENIG has been promoted to President of Global Media Distribution.
* Exec VP/Global Merchandising SAL LAROCCA has been promoted to President of Global Operations & Merchandising.
* Exec VP & Exec Producer DANNY MEISELES has been promoted to President & Exec Producer of Content.

Koenig will report to Silver, while LaRocca and Meiseles will report to Tatum. Other moves call for Exec VP/Strategy & CFO JASON CAHILLY to assume a new title -- Chief Strategic & Financial Officer -- reporting to Silver. Exec VP & General Counsel RICK BUCHANAN will now oversee all of the league’s legal matters, reporting to President of League Operations JOEL LITVIN. Meanwhile, Exec VP/Marketing JAMIE GALLO is leaving the league. Gallo joined the NBA in June '12.
