EPL Attendance Up Nearly 3%; Aston Villa Leads All Clubs In Gains At The Gate

EPL teams are averaging 36,590 fans per match through Jan. 21, up nearly 3% from the same period last season. Manchester United continues to hold a large lead over all clubs with 75,179 fans per match. That figure is flat compared to the same period during the '12-13 season. Aston Villa is seeing the biggest gains to date, with attendance up 8.5% for the Birmingham-based club. Cardiff City leads in attendance among the three promoted clubs this season. The club is at 103% capacity for home games in the capital city of Wales. Stoke City is seeing the sharpest drop at the gate among EPL clubs, down nearly 5%. Fulham is seeing a 3% drop for homes games at Craven Cottage in Southwest London (THE DAILY).
