Kings Lead All NBA Teams In Attendance Gains After Nearly Departing Sacramento

After nearly departing Sacramento for Seattle following last season, the Kings' new ownership has helped the club achieve the biggest attendance gain among all NBA teams through Dec. 8. The club is averaging 15,969 fans per game, up 24% from last season. Sleep Train Arena is being filled to just over 92% capacity to date, compared to 79% for all of last season. Other Western Conference clubs seeing strong gains to start the '13-14 season are the Rockets (+14%) and the Pelicans (+12%). The Mavericks continue to lead all Western Conference clubs at the gate with 19,880 fans per game, relatively flat compared to the same point last season. The Suns rank last in Western Conference attendance, with the average draw at U.S. Airways Center down a conference-worst 8%. Also see yesterday's issue for Eastern Conference figures (THE DAILY).
