NBPA Hires Search Firm Reilly Partners To Conduct Search For New Exec Dir

The NBPA has hired the search firm Reilly Partners to conduct the search for the next Exec Dir of the NBPA. The union sent an e-mail out Friday to players informing them that the firm had been retained to help find a replacement for Billy Hunter, who was dismissed by a unanimous vote of player reps at the All-Star Game in February. Reilly Partners conducted the searches that resulted in DeMaurice Smith being elected as NFLPA Exec Dir in '09 and Paul Kelly being elected as NHLPA Exec Dir in '07. Kelly was dismissed from that position in '09. Robert Reilly, CEO & founder of Reilly Partners, spoke to NBA players in August during a union meeting in Las Vegas.
