Inaugural Season For NWSL Sees Avg. Attendance Below Debuts For WPS, WUSA

The NWSL averaged 4,270 fans per game during its inaugural season, below the 4,684 during the first season for the WPS in '09 and well below the 8,116 average for the WUSA in '01. The Portland Thorns led all clubs with 13,320 fans per game, which was more than 8,600 greater than second-ranked FC Kansas City. Five of the eight NWSL clubs had attendance that would have ranked in last place during the WPS' inaugural season (THE DAILY).
