MLB Attendance Down Just Over 2%; Orioles Lead All Teams In Gains

MLB teams are averaging 30,792 fans per game through Aug. 12, down just over 2% compared to the same period last season. The Orioles lead all MLB teams in gains to date, up 15% at Camden Yards. The Blue Jays and A's are also seeing strong gains, with both clubs up nearly 14% at home. Despite a strong record, the Rays rank last in attendance in the AL and are down 10% at the gate. The Rangers and Twins are also seeing a 10% drop at home. The Astros, Mariners and Indians are the only AL clubs averaging less than 50% capacity at home. Listed below is team-by-team attendance for the AL through Aug. 12, with comparisons to the same period last season. See tomorrow's issue for NL figures (THE DAILY).
