Greg Bibb Leaving Monumental Sports To Join New Start-Up Venture

Monumental Sports & Entertainment's GREG BIBB is leaving the company to join a start-up sports and event venture. Bibb was hired in October ‘05 as WNBA Mystics COO and was then named Wizards Exec VP/Business Operations in June ‘10. The TED LEONSIS-led Monumental owns the Wizards, Mystics, Capitals and Verizon Center. The company has not named a successor to Bibb, who will leave Monumental on Dec. 31. Bibb is partnering with FRED SCHAUFELD, a minority owner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment and the Nationals, in creating a yet-to-be named sports and event property ownership company. “It has been a long-term career aspiration of mine to own a part of something and this affords me that opportunity,” Bibb said. “I’m grateful for the opportunities Monumental has provided me.”
