Overnight Ratings: Deutsche Bank Final Round Gets Boost From McIlroy, Woods

College football kicked into full gear over Labor Day weekend, with Alabama-Michigan topping overnight Nielsen ratings among all sports telecasts. NBC got a boost for the final round of the PGA Tour Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday. The finish to the second event in the FedExCup Playoffs earned a 3.4 overnight for Rory McIlroy's one-stroke win over Louis Oosthuizen. Tiger Woods finished third, two strokes back. That 3.4 overnight is up 48% from a 2.3 rating for Webb Simpson's playoff win over Chez Reavie last year. Woods did not play last year. CBS aired coverage of the U.S. Open early rounds over the weekend. The net saw overnights decline for Saturday, Sunday and Monday's coverage compared to '11. Monday's 1.4 overnight for CBS was down 30% from last year.
