Execs Say Ticket Prices Is Area Of Sports Biz Facing Biggest Challenge To Continued Growth

Execs said the price of tickets is the area of sports business that will face the most challenges to continue growing at its current rate, according to a Turnkey Sports Poll taken in February. Forty-seven percent of execs said ticket prices would be most challenged to maintain current growth, while 16% said player salaries. Forty-one percent of execs also said the NBA faces the most scrutiny from its fans and the media for its ticket prices, followed by the NFL. MLB received the highest marks from execs when asked which league is the most advanced with regards to implementing and monetizing innovative ticketing processes (Turnkey Sports).
