Joe Buck Teaming With Tim McKernan For Radio Show In St. Louis

Fox' Joe Buck is teaming with St. Louis radio host Tim McKernan for a new radio show, and McKernan said that the show will "mix sports, entertainment and 'whatever comes to mind,'" according to Dan Caesar of the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH. The show will have a "test run" from 1:00-3:00pm CT next Monday-Friday on KFNS-AM, following which the idea is to "point the show toward a podcast, perhaps three times a week." A longer term possibility is "radio syndication, and Buck is eager for the new venture." Buck said, "I want to do it with nobody overseeing it and being my own boss with Tim. ... It’s not going to be hard-core sports, and it’s certainly not going to be hard-core entertainment. It’s going to be something in the middle." Caesar reports there is a possibility for "big-name guests" next week that include actors Jon Hamm, Paul Rudd and Kate Hudson, former NFLer Michael Strahan, singer Eddie Vedder and golf coach Hank Haney. Buck is "looking forward to a less rigid structure than is the norm in more mainstream broadcasting." He said, "I’m excited about showing more of my personality that I don’t think people really know I have unless they're around me" (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 3/2). Buck hosted a show on HBO in '09, but it was cancelled after only three shows (THE DAILY).
