NEIGHBORHOOD COURTS: FS Ohio is averaging a 5.84 local rating and 89,000 HHs in the Cleveland-Akron market for Cavaliers games this season through the team’s first eight games. That figure is up from last season's average of 60,000 HHs in ’10-11. The Cavaliers “rank fifth among NBA teams in ratings within their markets, trailing only San Antonio (8.27), Miami (7.59), Chicago (6.80) and Oklahoma City (5.88)” (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 1/12)….Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia is averaging a 2.4 local rating for 76ers games through Jan. 11, up 60% compared to the similar period at the start of last season. 76ers pre- and post-game shows are also up significantly through 10 games. The Knicks-76ers game on Wednesday night averaged a 3.6 local rating, marking the net’s highest-rated regular-season game since Dec. 7, 2009, when G Allen Iverson first returned to play for the 76ers after being traded away in ’06 (CSN Philadelphia).

NOTES: The first-ever scheduled Monday finish for the PGA Tour Hyundai Tournament of Champions averaged 659,000 viewers for live and replay telecasts on Golf Channel, marking the “most-watched final round of the event since 2008.” The four rounds averaged 609,000 viewers on Golf Channel, also marking the event’s best average since ’08 (Honolulu STAR-ADVERTISER, 1/12)….YES Network averaged 30,000 total-day viewers (6:00am-2:00am) in the N.Y. market during ’11, marking the ninth straight year the net has been the most-viewed RSN. NESN ranked second among RSNs with an average of 23,000 viewers in the Boston market. In addition, YESNetwork.com saw its average unique visitors jump 52% (YES Network)....FS Midwest earned a 5.6 local rating in St. Louis for last night's Blues-Canucks game, marking the Blues' most-watched game this season and second most-watched game ever on the net (FS Midwest).
