Prominent Agents Dogra, Condon Agree To Multiyear Extensions With CAA Sports

Football agents Ben Dogra and Tom Condon, who have assembled the most powerful player representation business in the NFL, if not the most dominant one-sport athlete practice in all of sports, have both signed multiyear deals to remain at CAA Sports, sources said. Financial details of the deal could not be determined, but both Dogra and Condon are said to have agreed to stay at the helm of CAA Football for more than five years. CAA declined comment. Neither Dogra nor Condon returned phone calls or texts for comment. The two negotiated their extensions with CAA Sports Co-Heads Howard Nuchow and Michael Levine, who both agreed to new five-year terms to run the sports division earlier this year. Dogra’s deal with CAA was set to expire on Dec. 31 and Condon’s deal was said to be up on March 31. The two joined CAA as rival agents -- Condon coming from IMG in April ‘06 and Dogra from the former SFX Sports in July ‘06. When they first joined forces, many in the industry had doubted that a partnership between two agents who competed fiercely with each other to sign the best football players in the country would work. But since joining CAA as co-heads of football, Dogra and Condon combined to sign 32 first-round NFL draft picks since '07, the most of any agency in those five drafts. CAA Football this year led all agencies in the dollar amount of NFL player contract deals negotiated, with a total value of more than $750M, with nearly $400M of that guaranteed. The CAA football practice is special in not only the number but quality of the players they represent, including Saints QB Drew Brees, Vikings RB Adrian Peterson, Giants QB Eli Manning, 49ers LB Patrick Willis, Texans DE Mario Williams and Eagles CB Nnamdi Asomugha. CAA represents more than 110 NFL players, second to Rosenhaus Sports. Nineteen CAA Football clients were in the ‘11 Pro Bowl, believed to be the most of any agency.
