Mercedes-Benz USA CEO ERNST LIEB, the man "who helped broker the recent Superdome naming rights deal" between the Saints and Mercedes-Benz, has reportedly left his position. Lieb had been in charge of Mercedes-Benz USA since '06 (NOLA.com, 10/18). Lieb will be succeeded "until further notice" by Mercedes-Benz USA CFO and VP/Finance & Information Technology HERBERT WERNER (AUTONEWS.com, 10/17).

EXECS: Front Row Marketing Services named Phoenicia Sport & Entertainment Founder CHRIS LENCHESKI President (Front Row Marketing)....JEFF RICHARDS has been named Marketing Dir of the Seahawks and MLS Sounders. Richards previously served as Corporate & Consumer Marketing Manager at Washington-based BDA (David Broughton, SportsBusiness Journal)....Former UConn AD JEFF HATHAWAY has officially joined the Big East as a consultant to the commissioner of men's basketball. The position "allows Hathaway to serve out his 2011-12 term" as Division I Men's Basketball Committee Chair (HARTFORD COURANT, 10/18)....La Salle Univ. named JAMES GULICK Dir of Athletic Development. TREY ULRICH will succeed Gulick as Assistant VP for Alumni Relations (La Salle)....The Univ. of Rhode Island named MARNIE DACKO Coordinator for Marketing, Development & Special Projects for Women's Athletics (URI).
