Double Eagle Holdings Terminates Vick Sponsorship Due To Rival Deal

Double Eagle Holdings yesterday said that its deal with Eagles QB Michael Vick to endorse sports nutrition company Fuse Science has been terminated since Vick “agreed on a deal with a competitor,” according to Mason Levinson of BLOOMBERG NEWS. Vick on July 7 “signed a five-year agreement with Fuse” that included “cash, stock and stock options” with parent company Double Eagle. However, MusclePharm on Friday announced that Vick “agreed on a three-year, $1.55 million endorsement deal, and that it was, in fact, the exclusive sports nutrition company of Vick.” Double Eagle in a filing with the SEC yesterday said, “This created an unacceptable conflict and, accordingly, on July 25, 2011, we terminated the agreement with Mr. Vick” (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 7/26).
