Overnight Ratings: TNT's Sprint Cup Race From Kentucky Tops Weekend Sports Telecasts

TNT led all weekend sports telecasts with a 2.7 overnight Nielsen rating for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quaker State 400 from Kentucky Speedway on Saturday from 7:29-10:49pm ET, up 17.4% from a 2.3 overnight for the net's comparable telecast from Chicagoland Speedway last year. ESPN's U.S.-Brazil FIFA Women's World Cup quarterfinal ranked second, with a 2.6 overnight yesterday afternoon. ESPN also saw a gain for its last "Sunday Night Baseball" telecast before the All-Star break. The net's 1.5 overnight for Mets-Giants was up slightly from a 1.3 rating last year for the comparable Cubs-Dodgers telecast. MLB regional coverage on Fox on Saturday (2.1 overnight) led all broadcast TV sports telecasts over the weekend. NBC's overnight for coverage of the final round of the U.S. Women's Open got a bump on Sunday with a late rain delay pushing coverage deep into primetime. The event wrapped up this morning on ESPN2. Listed below are overnight Nielsen ratings for sports telecasts on broadcast TV over the weekend.
