Golfer Mark Wilson Inks Endorsement Deal With Northwestern Mutual

Mark Wilson, a two-time winner this year on the PGA Tour, has struck a multiyear endorsement deal with Northwestern Mutual. Beginning with next week’s U.S. Open, Wilson will wear the marks of the insurance and financial company on his apparel. Terms of the agreement between Wilson and Northwestern were not available. Northwestern receives category exclusivity and the right to use Wilson’s name and likeness in its promotional activities, as well as personal appearances by Wilson throughout the year. Wilson is represented by Wasserman Media Group’s Brad Buffoni, who joined WMG in the recent acquisition of SFX (Michael Smith, SportsBusiness Journal). In Milwaukee, Gary D'Amato notes Northwestern Mutual "will have a strong advertising presence during the U.S. Open, including television commercials airing next Thursday and Friday during ESPN’s daytime and prime-time coverage" (JSONLINE.com, 6/9).
