The Nets have hired JOHN SPARKS as GM of Barclays Center, the NBA team's new arena under construction in Brooklyn. Sparks was most recently VP & GM at AT&T Center in San Antonio, a position he held since the Spurs' arena opened in '02. Previously, he spent two years as Dir of Operations at Philips Arena in Atlanta. Barclays Center is set to open Sept. 28, 2012 (Don Muret, SportsBusiness Journal).
