Anheuser-Busch yesterday appointed PAUL CHIBE to lead its U.S. marketing efforts, filling the post vacated by KEITH LEVY in January. Chibe previously served as VP & GM of U.S. Gum & Mints at Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co., where he worked for more than 11 years. He will begin his new job June 1 and will be based out of A-B's North American HQs in St. Louis (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 5/11). Meanwhile, MillerCoors is "creating a marketing position to oversee its biggest brands, including Coors Light and Miller Lite." Coors promoted VP RICK GOMEZ to VP/Brand Marketing, a newly created position that will report to CMO ANDY ENGLAND. The move gives England a "top lieutenant to oversee marketing of individual brands" (ADAGE.com, 5/9).

EXECS: Magna Int'l named part-time Dir MIKE HARRIS Chair, replacing FRANK STRONACH, who will remain honorary Chair and a Dir (TORONTO STAR, 5/11)....MLB Network promoted VP/Pricing & Strategy JENNIFER SHAW to Senior VP/Strategic Planning & Integrated Marketing (THE DAILY)....Sports Illustrated has hired former CBS Sports Network VP/Strategic Planning & Business Development JULIE SOUZA as its VP/Business Development. Souza will report to Time Inc. Sports Group President MARK FORD and work heavily on video development and international business endeavors (Eric Fisher, SportsBusiness Journal)....Texas Motor Speedway named KDAF-CW Sports Dir and anchor DAVE CROME Media Relations Manager (TMS)....Eastern Michigan Univ. named Robert Morris Univ. Assistant AD for Compliance and Sports Supervisor CHRISTOPHER HOPPE Associate AD for Compliance (EMU)....The North American Lacrosse League named Sillis Cummis & Gross Sports & Entertainment Law Practice Group Chair ANTHONY CARUSO League Counsel. Caruso previously served as League Counsel for the NLL (THE DAILY).
