MillerCoors LLC has promoted President & Chief Commercial Officer TOM LONG to CEO, replacing LEO KIELY, who will retire June 1 (CHICAGOBUSINESS.com, 4/27). Long's promotion is "part of a succession plan announced in 2007, when Miller Brewing Co. and Coors Brewing Co. said they were forming the joint venture." Long previously served as President & CEO of Miller Brewing before the two companies merged in July '08 (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 4/28).

EXECS: The Illinois Sports Facilities Authority yesterday "terminated the contract" of Exec Dir PERRI IRMER, "who had run the agency since 2004." Irmer earned $176,000 a year in the position. Former Illinois Gov. James Thompson "will serve as the acting director while the board prepares to interview candidates to replace Irmer" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 4/28)....Fenway Sports Management has promoted Senior VP/Sales FRANK HUCKABONE to Exec VP/Sales, reporting directly to FSM co-Managing Dir BILLY HOGAN (FSM)....Redskins Media Editorial Dir LARRY WEISMAN was "let go last week." Weisman was "often sharply critical" of the Redskins, but Senior VP TONY WYLLIE said that Weisman's departure is "not related to any criticism of the franchise, nor to the NFL lockout" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 4/27)....Pace Univ. has hired Old Dominion Univ. Associate AD for Business & Finance MARK BROWN as AD (Pace)....Dover Motorsports has named former Bank of America Global Card Services President RICHARD STRUTHERS to its BOD (Dover).
