Duke Ranks As Favorite Men's College BBall Team; UConn Most Popular Women's Program

Duke has regained the top spot as the favorite men's college basketball team, one year after being tied with archrival North Carolina, according to data from Harris Poll. Duke has been the favorite among college basketball fans seven times since '03, and has finished at No. 2 twice. North Carolina, which is No. 2 this year, has been on top three times during that timeframe. Ohio State, Kentucky and Syracuse round out the top five this year. Dropping off the men's top 10 list this year were UConn, Maryland, UCLA and Purdue. Among women's teams, UConn is the favorite for the third year in a row. Tennessee held the top spot from '04-08, and has ranked second over the last three years. Dropping off the women's top 10 list this year were Texas, Maryland, UCLA, Purdue, Nebraska and Ohio State. Listed below are the top 10 men's and women's college basketball programs for '11, with comparisons to how those teams ranked in previous years. This year's poll surveyed 2,379 adults online between March 7-14, of which 557 said they followed college basketball (Harris Poll).
