EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

MEDIA MOVEMENT: In Toronto, Chris Zelkovich cites
sources as saying that CTV Sportsnet "has decided to cut"
analyst JOE CARTER "loose" after two seasons. Zelkovich:
"One reason for the surprise was that Sportsnet was looking
for a backup analyst, partly because Carter had said he
didn't have time to work all 40 of the channel's Blue Jays
games" (TORONTO STAR, 12/22)....DON ORSILLO will handle
play-by-play duties for the Red Sox for NESN, beginning in
March and will join analyst JERRY REMY. Since '96, Orsillo
has been the play-by-play announcer for the Triple-A Int'l
     League Pawtucket Red Sox (NESN).
EXECS: The 49ers named DAVID GOLDMAN as VP/Business
Development. Goldman spent the past six years as the NFL's
Dir of Club Marketing (49ers)....TaylorMade Golf hired SCOTT
CUPPETT to serve as a PGA Tour representative, reporting to
Dir of Tour Operations TOM CISMOSKI. Cuppett will handle
equipment needs of TaylorMade staff players. Cuppett held a
similar position at Callaway Golf (GOLFWEEK, 12/16 issue).
