STREET & SMITH'S LAUNCHES NEW TITLE FOR PRO ATHLETES
Street & Smith's has launched "Pro" magazine, a
lifestyle publication for pro athletes. Pro will be
available exclusively to active pro athletes, recent
retirees and active sports agents, and is being distributed
to 20,000 of those individuals through agreements with pro
players associations, sports sanctioning bodies and agents.
The magazine's 88-page debut issue features a cover story by
Lakers C Shaquille O'Neal on how he handles the media.
Other features in the inaugural issue include Anna
Kournikova discussing her battle for control of her image on
the Internet and a full list of the top charitable
contributors among today's athletes (Street & Smith's).
ON CAMPUS: Street & Smith's also announced a multi-year
deal with Nelligan Sports Marketing (NSM), which will
exclusively represent the Street & Smith's college specific
preview magazines. The publications will be distributed and
produced by Street & Smith's and marketed by NSM. Plans are
to produce six to eight publications for 2000 and produce in
excess of 50 within five years (NSM). THE DAILY is a
