In San Diego, Philip LaVelle wrote that a "major
roadblock" to the Padres' ballpark and redevelopment project
was "cleared" when Superior Court Judge Judith McConnell
ruled that the Frost family -- who owns parcels totaling
100,000 square feet in the ballpark district -- has a "weak"
claim to "halt condemnation proceedings against their
property" (See THE DAILY, 12/10) (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE,
12/21)....The WESTCHESTER COUNTY BUSINESS JOURNAL's Alex
Philippidis reports that the NHL Rangers "have all but iced
plans to hold practices" at a potential $5M site at
Manhattanville College in Westchester. Rangers PR Manager
Jason Vogel, on the facility, which has been "discussed" for
two years: "If plans come up again, we'll take another look
at it. There's no agenda for building the project"
(WESTCHESTER COUNTY BUSINESS JOURNAL, 12/20 issue).
