THIS TOUR SELES TICKETS: WTA ATTENDANCE AHEAD OF '98 PACE

          The WTA Tour's five U.S. spring season events drew     561,378, the best-attended stretch of non-Grand Slam events     in Tour history, topping the previous high of 533,496 set     during the same events in '97.  Overall WTA Tour attendance     is at 1,259,535 through the first 15 events, a 7.8% increase     over last year's total at the same point (WTA Tour)
