          The SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL examines NBA attendance and
     reports that no-shows "may be costing NBA teams tens of
     millions of dollars this year from lost parking and
     concession sales" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 3/15 issue).
     ...Spurs G Steve Kerr, on the NBPA increasing union dues to
     $10,000 this year: "There were a lot of legal bills piled up"
     (SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS, 3/14)....The ATLANTA CONSTITUTION
     ran a special report on Sunday, "NASCAR At The Crossroads,"
     and Mark Schlabach wrote that for "every plus" of NASCAR's
     growth, "there's a minus," including average ticket prices of
     $50, and fans finding that "access to the drivers, the
     foundation of the sport, is deteriorating because of
     corporate demands" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 3/14)....NASCAR
     Senior VP Mike Helton was profiled in the WINSTON-SALEM
     JOURNAL and said that he's learning about "the licensing,
     marketing and relationships outside the garage" in his new
     post: "The business relationships and strategic planning on
     how to keep NASCAR on the right planning.  That's a huge part
     of what NASCAR does every day (W-S JOURNAL, 3/14).
