THERE'S A FEELING THEY GET, ABOUT A RENOVATED AMERICAN WEST

City of Phoenix and America West Arena officials will
unveil a renovation plan today that will replace "about"
3,300 of the 4,200 obstructed-view arena seats, according to
Chris Fiscus of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC. The "first phase" of
the project "would replace about 2,000 of the seats" and
cost about $10M. A second phase for the remaining seats
could "involve other arena improvements." The proposal
"would create different seat configurations for varying
sports events." The "plan is for arena funds to be used for
the project." Coyotes President Shawn Hunter said he had
not seen the plan and could not comment on it. But he and
Coyotes Owner Richard Burke "have said repeatedly" they are
"committed to moving to a new arena planned" for the Los
Arcos mall in Scottsdale (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 3/10).
