THE GARDENS OF EDEN: ARENA SET TO HOST FINAL HOCKEY GAME

The Maple Leafs will play their final game at Maple
Leaf Gardens on Saturday and two Toronto ticket brokers were
"each asking" C$1,000 for a gold ticket for Saturday's game
(Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 2/10). Police and security guards
"are being especially vigilant" against people "trying to
get away with bigger souvenirs" from the Leafs' final games
at MLG, "such as seats" (EDMONTON SUN, 2/11).
TOUGH TICKETS: Even though the Maple Leafs are moving
from the 15,700-seat MLG to the 18,800-seat Air Canada
Centre, tickets will still be hard to come by because seats
"which ordinarily might have been offered to the general
public have been eaten up by team sponsors." Air Canada
Centre Dir of Ticketing Chris Overhalt said "there won't be
more than a couple of hundred available" for each of the
Leaf's 14 games at the arena. The rest, about 16,000, were
purchased by season-ticket holders (TORONTO SUN, 2/9).
