ABL PLAYERS AND COACHES FREE AGENTS AFTER COURT RULING

U.S. District Judge Marilyn Morgan ruled yesterday that
the contracts between the ABL and "its players and coaches
could be terminated," according to Lena Williams of the N.Y.
TIMES. The decision allows former ABL players to sign
contracts with teams overseas. Morgan also "authorized the
league to pay its 'key' employees for the month of January,"
but delayed until February 8 a motion on "further
compensation and the borrowing of funds" (N.Y. TIMES, 1/28).
