BILLS LAY OUT STRATEGY FOR FINAL LUXURY BOX SALES

With one week left before the December 1 deadline, the
Bills "have mapped one possible scenario" allowing them to
reach their $11M goal in luxury box and club seat sales,
according to Gene Warner of the BUFFALO NEWS. To reach the
goal, the team must sell four of six remaining luxury boxes,
almost 100 enclosed club seats targeted for Rochester fans
and about 900 more outdoor club seats. The Bills, who have
scheduled three possible public events to help sales,
announced Monday that the bottom-line figure has reached
$10.4M, up from $10.37M last Friday. Now they are left with
the "huge challenge" of selling $600,000 worth of premium
seats in only 7 days. Bills Treasurer Jeffrey Littmann:
"There's clearly a sense of urgency. We can smell the
finish line. We can almost touch it. But we're not there
yet." The team has planned stadium tours Tuesday night
hosted by former player Steve Tasker and a "blowout rally"
Saturday at Ralph Wilson Jr. Fieldhouse with NFL Experience-
type events and a huge screen TV showing the Bills-Patriots
game. The 17-member Bills business committee will also
intensify its efforts with last-minute phone calls, radio
and TV appearances and some ads (BUFFALO NEWS, 11/24).
ON THE MOVE? Bills Owner Ralph Wilson "reluctantly"
said yesterday he "could not commit to keeping the team in
Buffalo" if the deadline for selling $11M in premium seating
is not met by Tuesday, according to Gary Myers of the N.Y.
DAILY NEWS. Wilson: "On Dec. 1, if we're not at $11
million, I have the option not to sign a lease. We can
walk. If we hit $11 million, and I think we will, I'm
obligated to stay. I'm not saying one way or the other what
is going to happen if we don't hit it" (DAILY NEWS, 11/25).
