NASHVILLE FANS TO GET GOOD LOOK AT FIRST-YEAR PREDATORS

The NHL expansion Nashville Predators have reached
separate agreements with Fox Sports South (FSS) and WNAB-TV
to televise 45 Predators games during the team's inaugural
'98-99 season. FSS will be the club's exclusive cable
carrier for the team's first three NHL seasons, while WNAB-
TV will serve as the team's flagship station of the
Predators TV Network in a multi-year deal. Under terms of
the deal, FSS will carry 30 Predators games and WNAB-TV will
carry 15 games during the upcoming '98-99 season
(Predators). In Nashville, John Glennon reported that one
of the reasons for the "delay" of the TV deals was the
Predators' desire to "handle all advertising, rather than
giving the rights to the stations." In the end, the
Predators and FSS "compromised, with both sides handling
some of the advertising." The Predators will handle "the
majority of advertising" sales on WNAB (TENNESSEAN, 8/19).
