FACILITY NOTES

RAVEN-OUS: The Ravens will conduct a "dry run" of their
new stadium tonight, featuring an hour-long team practice
open to all 53,000 season-ticket holders (Baltimore SUN,
7/30)....ANC Sports has completed installation on 860-feet
of its wall-mounted, backlit rotating signage throughout the
Ravens' new stadium, the first NFL stadium to install ANC's
signage. A total of 8-10 "moments of exclusivity" will be
sold, in which each advertiser receives all 860-feet of the
rotating signage for a total of one minute per quarter of
each game. In addition, the Ravens are selling up to 14
"non moments of exclusivity" which offer each advertiser two
30-foot signage segments -- one on opposite sides of the
facility -- for a total of five minutes per quarter (ANC).
OTHER NOTES: Mike McTee, General Superintendent on the
construction of the Heat's new American Airlines Arena, said
that the project is "about a week ahead of schedule." It is
scheduled to open late '99 (MIAMI HERALD, 7/30)....In
Denver, a June study conducted by the Norwest Public Opinion
Research Program at the Univ. of CO, says that only 15% of
875 of those surveyed thought a new stadium was a "public
spending priority." Building a new stadium with public
funds beat out only planting trees (13%), "something else"
(7%) and expanding the convention center (3%) (DENVER POST,
7/29)....MD Gov. Parris Glendening said yesterday that the
state should consider using public funds to help build a
state-of-the-art horse track. Glendenning said he could
     support a "public-private partnership" (Balt. SUN, 7/30).
