CBS WON'T AIR OCTOBER'S PEPSI 400, LIKELY TO GO TO TNN

CBS has "decided not to broadcast" the rescheduled
Pepsi 400 on October 17, and is "expected" to cede its
rights to the primetime race to TNN, which CBS owns,
according to Jim Utter of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER. A CBS
source said they "cannot officially announce the change" due
to TNN programming decisions. The source added that "other
programming considerations" caused CBS to pass on the race,
including the fact that it will be only a month into its new
fall programming schedule (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 7/24).
