FRANCHISE NOTES

MLB: In N.Y., Bill Madden wrote that things are "only
going to get bloodier" in the Dodgers organization, as the
Fox Group could dismiss "the public relations department and
just about anyone else in the front office with [Former
Owner Peter] O'Malley ties." Madden added that President
Bob Graziano's "days are numbered too," as Fox is "content
to let Graziano and [Dodgers GM] Tommy Lasorda clean house
for them, but come the end of the season, expect them to put
their own people in charge" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 6/28)....The
White Sox "are in the early stages" of a search for a new ad
agency. Incumbent DiMeo Inc. has "decided not to compete."
White Sox VP/Marketing & Broadcasting Rob Gallas: "We want
to take a look at what's out there" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 6/29).
NOTES: WNBA Shock coach Nancy Lieberman-Cline wrote a
op-ed in the DETROIT NEWS urging local support. She noted
the team has sold 11,000-12,000 tickets for its home games,
but only about 7,500 have showed for each game: "If you're
not using your tickets, call The Palace, and we will give
them to someone who could use them. ... We have stepped up
our play, and we could use the fans to step up too" (DETROIT
NEWS, 6/28)....The Bills' efforts to sell luxury and club
seats at Rich Stadium was examined in the Rochester DEMOCRAT
& CHRONICLE. Some large local companies including Eastman
Kodak, Bausch & Lomb and Time Warner "are not buying at Rich
Stadium." But Xerox, which owns suites at Frontier Field
and Marine Midland Arena, is increasing its number of suites
at Rich Stadium (Rochester DEMOCRAT & CHRONICLE, 6/28).
