BROWNS BIDDER DOESN'T OFFER ENOUGH MUR-DOUGH TO ENTICE KOSAR

Former Browns QB Bernie Kosar and Browns ownership
candidate Thomas Murdough "are headed for an amicable
parting" after Kosar "rejected an offer by Murdough" to join
his proposed organization, according to Tony Grossi of the
Cleveland PLAIN DEALER. If Murdough's Browns bid is
successful, Kosar "probably would have held the title of
assistant to the president." However, the proposed
compensation "wasn't enough" to convince Kosar to leave his
current position and relocate from South FL to Cleveland.
Murdough, after attempting to convince Kosar to join his
group "for months," is now "moving forward" and "will offer
the position to another candidate." As for Kosar's future,
Grossi wrote that he could either "walk away from the
project entirely ... pursue putting together his own
ownership group," or "he still could surface after an owner
is selected by the NFL" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 6/28).
