Fila USA concludes agency presentations today, including a
pitch by Leo Burnett Co., for its estimated $20M ad account.
Burnett is competing against Fallon McElligott and Cliff
Freeman & Partners (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 6/25)....AD AGE reports
that adidas is looking outside of London-based Leagas
Delaney for a new creative. adidas said Leagas will remain
its lead agency and that any additions to its roster would
not do work for the U.S. market, where CA-based Leagas
remains the sole creative source (AD AGE, 6/25)....The newly
formed partnership of Conover Tuttle Advertising and Public
Relations will handle PR duties for The Country Club in
Brookline, MA, site of the '99 Ryder Cup (Conover Tuttle).
NOTES: Michael Jordan has topped a survey of the "Ten
Most Wanted" sports endorsers conducted by the CT-based
Sports Marketing Letter. Jordan is expected to earn $42M in
endorsement income over the next year (USA TODAY, 6/25).
...FootAction USA will offer a special CD featuring music
from various artists, including Puff Daddy and the late
Notorious B.I.G. The 10-track CD, entitled "Nothin' but the
Hotness in '98," will go on sale at 550 FootAction stores
nationwide on July 1, and retail for $9.99 (FootAction).
..The USA Cup youth soccer tournament named MN-based
Schwan's Home Service as the tournament's title sponsor.
