MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

          MasterCard held its "Million Dollar Shot" last night
     between the second and third periods of Game One of the
     Stanley Cup Finals.  Dr. Richard Chaifetz missed the shot
     but collected a $10,000 consolation prize.  Chaifetz was
     coached by Karen Bye of the U.S. Women's hockey team (THE
     DAILY)....Scott Shuler, VP/GM of the Jazz's Retail Division,
     said that the team ranked ninth in NBA apparel sales last
     year, marking its first trip "into the top 10."  The team
     had ranked as low as 20th in the past (DESERET NEWS, 6/9).
     ...The label for Omar Vizquel Salsa is from a painting done
     by the Indians SS titled "Fiesta."  Vizquel, on the salsa
     which will retail for $1.99 to $2.39: "Don't buy it because
     it's Omar Vizquel.  Buy it because it tastes pretty good"
     (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL, 6/10)....CBS will market its new NFL
     package via promos tagged: "The NFL on CBS ... The way it
     should be!" (AD AGE, 6/10).
