FACILITY NOTES

A deteriorated expansion joint was found in Three
Rivers Stadium Tuesday, but the Giants-Pirates game was
played anyway and ballpark officials stressed it "was not a
Yankee Stadium situation." Stadium GM Jimmy Sacco: "There
is no jeopardy to fans." As a precaution, a section of
seats were closed last night, and will be closed throughout
the week (USA TODAY, 4/22)....Officials from St. Paul and
the NHL Wild approved preliminary plans for the new hockey
arena. The 650,000-square-foot building will feature four-
tier seating for 18,600. The concourse will be 25- or 26-
feet wide "at its narrowest" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 4/22).
