RATINGS NOTES: CBS's coverage of the Masters averaged an 8.6/24 -- its second-highest two-day average since '81. Sunday's 10.2/28 ranks as the 10th highest final round ever, and is up 50% from '93, the last time the final was on Easter Sunday (CBS)....USA TODAY's Rudy Martzke notes ABC's MLS rating was 68% below the PBA Tour telecast, which earned a 2.5 on the same day in '97. The PBA on CBS debuts Saturday (USA TODAY, 4/17). In N.Y., Phil Mushnick writes that CBS has given the PBA Tour "virtually no publicity" and adds that nearly 60 million people in the U.S. bowl at least once a year, "but it's beneath TV networks to be identified with the sport" (N.Y. POST, 4/17)....MLB Cardinals ratings on Fox Sports Midwest (FSM) are up 45% from last year. The first three games in '98 drew a 6.8, compared with the '97 average rating of 4.7 (FSM)....ESPN's coverage of the Bausch & Lomb women's tennis semifinals and final last weekend received ratings of 0.8 and 0.6, respectively (THE DAILY).
