          PATRICK'S DAY? USA TODAY's Rudy Martzke reports that
     while CBS is targeting ESPN's Mike Patrick for its NFL
     coverage, ESPN has increased its offer to keep Patrick from
     $500,000 to "the $600,000-$700,000 range" (USA TODAY, 2/25).
          TEAM NOTES: Fox Sports Bay Area and the Sharks have
     extended their TV deal for the next five years, which will
     see FSBA carry up to 41 Sharks games per season (FSBA).
     ...The Marlins will have 60 regular season games aired on
     WBFS-UPN.  Earlier, the team "approached" Barry Diller's
     Silver King WYHS-TV, "hoping to replicate" the $6.5M deal
     struck by the Heat, but "the station wasn't interested"
     (BROADCASTING & CABLE, 2/23 issue)....The Knicks, MSG
     Network and Telemundo-WNJU will broadcast four regular
     season Knicks games this season in Spanish on over-the-air
     TV.  The games will be in March and April (WNJU).

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown. SBJ’s Tom Friend also joins the show to share his insights into NBA viewership trends.
