SLOC APPOINTS FOUR NEW POSITIONS; NAMES NEW CFO

          SLOC announced new appointments to its community
     affairs and media relations department.  Frank Zang was
     named Dir of Communications & Media; Caroline Shaw was
     promoted to Dir of Media Relations; Dianne Hesleph was named
     Dir of Education; and Robert Bills was named Dir of Public
     Affairs.  All four will report to Shelley Thomas, SLOC's
     VP/Communications and Public Affairs.  Zang, the USOC's
     Associate Dir of Media Relations & Public Affairs, will join
     SLOC on March 23.  Hesleph will join SLOC in June.  She is a
     UT high school principal.  Bills, currently manager of the
     Oquirrh Park Speedskating Oval and President of the UT
     Speedskating Association, will join SLOC in April (SLOC).
          NEW OFFICER: PepsiCo VP/CFO Mark Tanner is joining the
     SLOC as CFO.  Tanner will oversee the 2002 Games' $1B
     budget.  He will take over for Jerry McClain, who has been
     acting CFO since September '97.  McClain will remain as
     SLOC's Dir of Business Development (SALT LAKE TRIB., 1/29).
