GOLDEN NUGGET: BOBBY JACKSON TO ENDORSE NEW CONVERSE SHOE

          Converse has selected Nuggets rookie G Bobby Jackson to
     take the place of Latrell Sprewell as a national endorser, 
     according to Dave Krieger of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS. 
     Jackson will film a TV spot for the company's newest
     basketball shoe -- the "Elevate" -- later this month.  The
     ad is scheduled to air nationally this winter to coincide
     with the shoe's February 1 introduction.  Krieger wrote that
     Jackson's "engaging personality and team-oriented attitude
     may have a lot to do" with Converse's selection.  Converse
     spokesperson Kellie Buckley said that the "Elevate" sneaker
     will retail for $75, but "declined to comment on whether the
     commercial would have come Jackson's way had Sprewell not
     been fired by Converse" (ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 12/12).
