LIMITED VIEW SEATS HAVE COYOTES HOWLING FOR ALTERATIONS

Coyotes President Shawn Hunter told the Phoenix City
Council yesterday that the 4,000 "limited view" seats in
America West Arena are "too many for the team to be
competitive," according to Chris Fiscus of the ARIZONA
REPUBLIC. Hunter said that 26% of the arena's 16,000 seats
for hockey have limited views, which means the team "has to
drop the price it charges for those seats, and overprice
other seats." The Council OK'd a plan to contract a
architectural firm to come up with options for improving the
facility, with the goal to have a firm in place "by early
next year." Hunter said that if the seating issue is
improved and the percentage of limited view seats is dropped
to "under" 10% "or so," the team would "consider a long-term
arrangement at the arena" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 12/10).
