     JACOBS have "abandoned their bid to merge their shopping
     mall empires."  A three-way merger with Jeremiah O'Connor's
     Retail Properties Trust "fell apart" when O'Connor sold his
     portfolio to Simon DeBartolo (BOSTON GLOBE, 11/12).
     ...MICHELE KWAN was a guest on "Late Show" last night. 
     Kwan, on the Olympics: "I can't wait, I mean it's been so
     long.  I waited four years since Lillehammer, I was thrown
     into that Tonya and Nancy thing.  Now I've been waiting four
     years and it's my turn" ("Late Show," CBS, 11/11).
