MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

          SPONSOR SEARCH: MEDIAWEEK reports that ESPN is seeking
     a presenting sponsor and six associate sponsors for
     SportsCentury, the network's 18-month series of anthology
     programs.  Industry sources estimate that an associate level
     sponsorship will be priced between $7-8M (MEDIAWEEK, 10/27).
          NIKE: W&K's new TV spot for the Michael Jordan brand
     debuted last night during ABC's "Monday Night Football." Ads
     for the brand, in 30-, 60- and 90-second spots, will run
     through November on major networks, including ESPN and Fox. 
     The TV spot will be accompanied by a 12-page magazine insert
     in Slam, SI, Vibe and Rolling Stone (Nike). 
          OTHER NOTES: Jos. A. Bank Clothiers will supply new
     wardrobes for 26 members of the NFL Coaches Club.  An
     official sponsor of the NFL Coaches Club, the company will
     also run an in-store sweeps offering a Grand Prize trip for
     two to Super Bowl XXXII.  The company has also partnered
     with golf instructor David Leadbetter and will debut the
     Leadbetter Golf Collection at Jos. A. Bank stores in October
     (Jos. A. Bank)....Sports Marketing & Television Int'l (SMTI)
     and Breeder's Cup have renewed their on-going deal keeping
     SMTI as the marketing agency for Breeder's Cup through '99
     (SMTI)....NJ-based The Score Board has signed the Red Sox'
     Nomar Garciaparra to an autograph collectibles deal (The
     Score Board)....American Honda Motor will be title sponsor
     of the inaugural women's NCAA college basketball "Honda
     Elite 4 Holiday Classic," December 21 in Orlando (Honda).
