STADIUM NOTES

          The Maryland Stadium Authority approved a $3.1M
     agreement for the state to purchase three tracts of land,
     including three nightclubs and a warehouse, all "in the
     shadow of Camden Yards."  They will be closed within a few
     weeks, and the site will be paved and graded to serve for
     parking at Orioles and Ravens games (Baltimore SUN, 4/16).  
     ...SkyDome has "slashed average menu prices by a whopping 40
     percent from a year ago" in their SkyBoxes.  The stadium
     formed its own catering service after buying out John
     Bitove's SkyDome Hospitality for "an undisclosed price"
     earlier this year (TORONTO STAR, 4/15)....The Raleigh City
     Council approved a financing plan for a new arena, which
     would provide future revenue from the county hotel tax to
     finance the final $48M needed for the $120M project (Raleigh
     NEWS & OBSERVER, 4/16).
