          Jaguars rookie Kevin Hardy has signed a multi-year deal
     until early '99 with PepsiCo.  He will appear in regional
     ads and promotional spots, as well as make personal
     appearances in the Jacksonville area (Tony Rome Management).
     ...Taylor Made Golf has signed Ernie Els, Steve Stricker and
     Larry Nelson to play the company's Burner Bubble driver and
     Burner Tour irons (Mult., 1/10)....Golden Bear Golf has
     acquired four more golf practice and instructional
     facilities, bringing its total to 12.  The new facilities
     are in Lake Park, FL; Royal Oak, MI; Portland, OR; and
     College Park, MD (Golden Bear)....Puma has expanded its
     soccer footwear line with the introduction of the Puma CELL
     Pro and Puma CELL Top, the first soccer shoes to feature
     Puma's CELL technology, which have a midsole component that
     is not dependent on foam for cushioning or stability
     (Puma)....Athletic apparel and footwear retailer Footstar
     said December sales, for the five-week period ended January
     4, rose 7.6% to $210.4M from $195.6M a year earlier (WALL
     STREET JOURNAL, 1/10)....The Cavs' Terrell Brandon will
     serve as the official spokesperson for the '97 NBA All-Star
     Weekend Jam Session presented by Fleer (NBA).  McDonald's
     launches its first Web-based sweepstakes in conjunction with
     the NBA.  The "Small Fries Meet Their All-Star Guys"
     sweepstakes offers children, ages 8-15, and their parents, a
     trip to the '97 NBA All-Star Game in Cleveland.  Entry forms
     are available at http:/www.mcdonalds.com (McDonald's).
